Common Characteristics of the Religions

COMMON CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RELIGIONS

Between the indigenous civilizations the religion was a main factor in all the activities of their life. Its existence was the base of their lifes and it did not conceive any act of the private or public life that was not determined by the Gods.

QUETZALCOATL

They had a polytheistic religion, in wich they adored a multitude of Gods, that although had different names in each civilization, its attributions were the same ones, they were always representations of the forces of the nature like: Rain, the fire, the wind, agriculture.
Also they had other similar characteristics between all the indigenous towns, among them, the functions of the Gods; the ritual used in the ceremonies, the administration of the temples and religious facilities, the philosophical conception of the universe, foundations and even the organization and functions of the priesthood.
